HUSQVARNA AUTOMOWER®

WORLD'S #1 SELLING ROBOTIC LAWN MOWER

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The concept behind the Automower® comes straight out of nature - the principle of the grazing animal. The grass is cut a little and often. This is not only more efficient, the smaller clippings created by continual cutting is better for the grass too.

THE FUNCTION

The principle function of the Automower® provides the service of a well cut lawn, not just a lawn mower. Things like horsepower, cutting width and technical details become less important with an Automower® that cuts your lawn day in, and day out.

AUTOMOWER INSTALL

NAVIGATION

The boundary or guide wire is staked to the lawn or buried a few inches down. A staked wire disappears into the lawn in a few weeks. The mower stays inside a wire laid around the perimeter of the working area.

RECHARGING

The charging station continually sends out a signal picked up by the mower up to 20 feet away. When it's time to recharge, the mower finds the charger:

  • By directly coming within reach of the home signal.
  • By following the boundary until within reach of home signal.
  • By following an optional guide wire on a complex lawn.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. Automower® is very simple to operate and you continuously get a good result with limited effort. Once you have installed Automower®, it independently ensures that your lawn is well cut, with limited involvement from you, whether you are at home, in the office or on vacation. With the Automower®, your lawn will always remain well maintained, but you do not perform the actual task of mowing.
Automower® maintains your lawn everyday. The mower operates from a base station located near the house. At appointed times, the mower leaves the station and begins mowing. When the battery needs charged, the mower finds it's home on it's own. Automower® knows it's boundaries via an installed low voltage wire around the perimeter of the property and around obstacles.
Yes, very easy. The control panel is easy to understand and operate, once in use Automower® can be left to its own devices.
No. The wire can be laid upon the ground and by using the installation staples will after some weeks be grown over and disappear in to the grass. A good tip is to cut the grass as short as possible at the perimeter in order to get the wire as close as possible to the ground. However, if you wish to bury the wire from the beginning, you can, the suggested depth is 1 to 4 inches.
Due to the large driving wheels, Automower® can cope with uneven surfaces very well. New models can handle slopes up to 45% (24°) incline. Only small deep holes may cause Automower® to get stuck. Automower® is small enough to follow the curvature of a rough lawn. It will not scalp the "hills" like many larger mowers.
Yes, Automower® is supposed to cut grass in all types of weather and is designed to handle wet conditions well. It is however recommended to bring the mower inside in extreme weather conditions, such as torrential rain and storms.
By mowing in a seemingly random pattern, in various directions, you will achieve a carpet-like lawn. For 20 years it has proven to be one of the most reliable ways to cut your whole lawn, leaving no uncut grass.
It is a very robust and reliable system, making sure the mower always stays inside its boundaries, in all weather and yard conditions. It is also very easy to set-up and install.
Yes, if you don't have to mow in the winter. Before putting Automower® away for the winter it should be cleaned and wiped dry and then stored in dry, frost-free conditions. We also recommend that the charging station is stored indoors over the winter. The loop wire installation should remain in the lawn and is not affected by varying weather conditions.
Replacing blades regularly is vital to maintain an excellent cutting result. Depending on your lawn size, you should spend a few minutes cleaning grass from the wheels and chassis.
